Djokovic outlasts FAA in historic epic; Sinner, Gauff, Muchova reach semis

By the Mob Tennis team

Novak Djokovic produced one of the best matches in his career, outlasting Felix Auger-Aliassime 7–6(10), 3–6, 6–3, 6–7(4), 7–6(4) in the longest Wimbledon quarter-final in history at five hours and 15 minutes. Djokovic, defying the odds with an extraordinary performance, extended his record streak of Wimbledon semifinal appearances to eight and will face Jannik Sinner after the defending champion dispatched Jan-Lennard Struff 7–5, 7–6(4), 6–3 in straight sets. On the women's side, Coco Gauff fought back from a set down to overcome Jessica Pegula 4–6, 6–3, 6–3, reaching her first Wimbledon semifinal at 22 and setting up a tantalising clash with Karolina Muchova, who delivered a supreme serving display to edge Naomi Osaka 7–6(4), 6–4. Alexander Zverev, the second seed, won his first Wimbledon quarterfinal with a 6–4, 7–5, 3–6, 7–6(6) victory over Jiri Lehecka in their resumed round-of-16 encounter. British wildcard Arthur Fery will pursue a place in the Wimbledon semifinals on Wednesday, sticking strictly to his winning formula when he faces Italian tenth seed Flavio Cobolli. Meanwhile, Serena Williams' coach revealed plans for her to play the US Open if healthy, a week after her comeback singles loss at SW19. The 2026 Wimbledon semifinals shape as a thrilling proving ground for both tours.
